Here's something you don't see everyday. A horse with a prosthetic leg. The Washington Post has posted a beautiful slideshow with captions. In one of the photo captions it reads: "... Her original family never came to see her and didn't want her back. It recommend euthanasia, a procedure frequently done on horses that are badly injured." Don't let the original owner's attitude scare you away from watching this slideshow. Molly, the horse, visits children in hospitals, elderly people in nursing homes and wounded military personel. She brings comfort and inspiration to all. She is enjoying her meaningful life!

Description: DLH  Color: black
Female spayed, 4 Yr, OWNER TURN IN
Notes: Poor Missy ended up at the shelter after someone in her household developed allergies. She probably misses her old home; getting treats from family members, coming in and out as she pleased, and snuggling up on the kids' beds at night. But she is ready for a new family to spoil her! She just has to wait for the right one to come along. Feline-ality-(Green) I'm the Leader of the Band!

You can adopt Missy at the Western Montana Humane Society, or see more of their pets online at montanapets.org.

BIGfoot

Description: DLH  Color: grey
Male neutered, Adult
STRAY, shelter dog kennel
Notes: We have an outside dog kennel off our parking lot, and we were quite surprised to arrive one morning and find this very big, friendly, matted cat sitting in it! We named him Bigfoot not because we think he looks like Sasquatch, but because he has huge feet -- no extra toes, just really large paws! We've shaved off the worst of the matts, and he's now ready to share his friendly personality with everyone. You can adopt BIGfoot at Missoula Animial Control, 6700 Butler Creek Rd, (406) 541-7387, or see more of their pets online at montanapets.org.

Dogs. You just have to love them. Even if they're like mine and can't dance!

Phelps

Notes:This older gentleman is looking for a quiet home with lots of sunshine and comfortable places to snooze. He'd also appreciate a water feature; he tries like crazy to swim in his water bowl, so no telling what he could accomplish in a bigger venue!
